FOXNews.com – World Bank Under Cyber Siege in ‘Unprecedented Crisis’

According to FoxNews and other sources, the World Bank has been repetitively and freely attacked and information stolen. This has been going on for at least six months.

So, why should I care? Aside from the fact that the World Bank has sensitive data about the economies of nations of the world, there are a couple of reasons why you should care…

  • Determined hackers will work hard to get what they want. Sensitive data can be valuable in the wrong hands.
  • No organization is exempt from hackers. The World Bank has a stated goal of reducing poverty in developing countries. Obviously, there is no honor among thieves.

Most likely your organization is not as high-profile as the World Bank. But, you should still be aware of what you are storing on your computers, and that you need to continuously take steps to protect that information.

What steps are you taking to protect your data?
