Military, Agriculture and Information Security

Here’s a little quiz… What do the military, agriculture and information security have in common?

Need a hint? Ok, think about these questions…

Why is the military important to our society? Why is agriculture important to our lives? Why is information security important to individuals?

Each of these is subject to wild misconceptions.

Persons involved with each of these needs to have a short “elevator message” to help educate about their respective industry or business. An “elevator message” is simply a message that can quickly, but succinctly communicate why their business is important.

Let’s get back to the questions…

Military folk… What are the two or three main points you want to make to help your friends, neighbors, politicians (or anyone not accustomed to the military) understand why what you do is important to a free society?

Agriculture people… What are the two or three main points that you need to be able to communicate to your city friends about the source of their food, fuel, and fiber and why it is critical to their lives?

InfoSec geeks… What are the two or thee main points you should make to your business friends about the importance of InfoSec to them both professionally and personally?

What are you doing to communicate these things?
