Information security does not have to be complex. It can be understood by just about anyone!

The application of Information Security to business has been a focus of mine for several years. InfoSec does not exist in a vacuum, nor does the business. My goal is to make InfoSec as practical as possible for both individuals and businesses. You will find the focus here to be small business and personal applications

Another focus of mine has been helping people to understand the Bible and it’s applicability to life – both personal and public. A common tendency is to make following Jesus Christ be a set of do’s and do not’s. My goal is to help people develop in their relationship with Jesus and obedience to Him, not a set of arbitrary and (sometimes changing) rules.

Ok, so someone asked for some bio information…

Educationally, I’ve got a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and a M.A. in Biblical Studies.

Work experience includes everything from a telecom technician to technical trainer to network engineer to information security manager to information technology director.

Currently, I hold a local elected office (school board) and serve as an appointed member of the state of Kansas Information Technology Executive Council.

Certifications include CISSP, GCIA, GCIH, GSEC, GSLC, GSNA. I spent a great deal of time working toward the CCIE, but things changed and I never actually took the hands-on lab exam. Probably should have, though…
